What is a System Pumping Motorcycle Oxygen Sensor?
“System Pumped” oxygen sensor means that instead of using “Referenced Air” as reference for oxygen sampling, the ECU send constant voltages to the sensor to pump oxygen from the exhaust gas to the sensor for air referencing. This action fills the sensor body with oxygen and thus continue the flow of ions between electrodes in accordance to Nernst Law. Like regular oxygen sensor, this flow of ions produces voltages that feedback to the ECU for emission optimization.
