Light-Force FSRs for Detecting Subtle Physical Input

When designing for low-effort interaction — such as a squeeze, flex, or steady press — it’s important to detect localized pressure that may not involve visible motion. That’s where light-force FSRs (Force Sensing Resistors) provide a simple, effective sensing method.

These compact, flexible sensors respond to low pressure in the 50 g to 2 kg range, ideal for capturing small force changes from fingers, hands, or contact points on the body.

Why Detect Subtle Force?

Not all interaction involves motion. In wearables, assistive controls, or therapy tools, users often engage with a product by applying light force — for example:
